From what I've played with, more lights and rendering time, no where
near as much as things that >effect< the light. The more filtering, the more
IOR, fog, all these seem to have the >largest< negative impact on rendering.
I"ve also seen where a disproptionaly large object, relative to your
other objects, can also have a dramatic effect.
A few of em enyway,

Mike,
I could kiss you, but I won't because I'm married and very straight!
That tip you gave me worked like a charm! I test rendered something
simple at the lowest anti-aliasing and at 3200 x 2400. When it was done
rendering, I brought it into a paint program, sized it to an 800 x 600
image, and it looked WONDERFUL!!!! The best thing is, it took a quarter
of the time to render than a full anti-aliased version. I don't know
why I didn't think of that, but I'm glad you did.
